Cyprus generally enjoys a mild climate, purely Mediterranean, with long periods of sunshine and clear sky. Summer period is relatively extensive (starting from May until mid-September), with the climate being dry and considerably hot. Daily temperatures during summertime range from 29°C at the center of the island to 22°C at the mountains. Daily maximum temperatures differ significantly from night minimum temperatures. In July and August, the two hottest months in Cyprus, the temperature can range from 38°C on the lowlands to 29°C on the mountains.
In Larnaca, the average temperature in July is 32°C (90°F) during the day and 21°C (70°F) at night.
